A bit of back ground on this legendary pedal
Tama and Drum Workshop (DW) jointly bought the bankrupt Camco Drum Company. As part of the deal, DW received the Camco tooling and manufacturing equipment while Tama received the Camco name, designs, engineering and patent rights.
At the time, Camco was producing what was thought to be the best drum pedal on the market. DW continued production of the pedal using the original tooling, rebadging it as the DW5000. Tama began production of the same pedal under the Camco name. The Tama version of the Camco pedal is commonly referred to as the Tamco pedal to distinguish it from an original Camco pedal. Tama integrated all the engineering from Camco into their production process and the overall level of quality of their drums increased virtually overnight.
Back in 1981 Tama took the Camco pedal design and added a chain drive and toothed sprocket; little changed over 20 years of production.
Fastforward 30 + years on and the legendary Camco pedal returns! The pedal that rocked the drum world is back and badder than ever!
The re-issue has slight improvements to the framework and rocket cam, other than that it is a stunning reproduction of the original.

Gordon Rytmeister is one of Australia’s most in-demand drummers with an extraordinary ability to cross every conceivable stylistic boundary. He brings a unique energy to any performance as both an exciting soloist and a very supportive team player with a driving, natural feel.
He was the resident drummer on both series of TV’s recent and highly successful Australian Idol, as well as playing five nights a week on the national tonight show, Tonight Live with Steve Vizard in the early 1990s.
After leaving school in 1986, he studied at the NSW Conservatorium of Music under Don Burrows. During that time he began playing in Mike Nock’s band and later joined The Don Burrows Quartet gaining amazing international touring and performing experience. Between his travel commitments, he quickly became one of Sydney’s busiest freelance musicians playing in everything from small clubs to studios and concert halls.
Since then, Gordon has worked with an extraordinarily diverse range of people, including the cream of Australia’s Jazz, Pop, Rock, and Country artists and many international acts.
